On Wednesday, June 3 2026, the day before the last day of school, Yavneh Day School celebrated our Kitah Chet graduation with a beautiful and deeply meaningful ceremony.
The students led the graduation ceremony themselves. They wrote and delivered their own speeches, served as the masters of ceremonies, and guided the entire event with confidence, thoughtfulness, and maturity.
Throughout the ceremony, students reflected on the connection between graduation and Havdalah, and connected themes from Parashat B’Ha-alotcha to their own journeys as they prepared to leave Yavneh and begin high school.
A few students spoke about the sweetness of the past, sharing treasured memories from their years at Yavneh. Others reflected on the journey ahead, expressing gratitude for the education they received and confidence in their readiness for high school and beyond.
The graduates entered and exited the auditorium to a song they selected together, adding a personal touch to the celebration. Diplomas were presented by Principal Aviva and Dr. Diana Wilmot, our board chair, recognizing each student’s accomplishments.
A particularly touching tradition was the presentation of illuminations by the teachers. Each graduate was honored with heartfelt reflections about how they have illuminated our community, what they have taught us, and how their unique light will continue to shine wherever they go.
The ceremony also included a beautiful video montage featuring photos of each student from infancy through eighth grade, reminding everyone of the remarkable journeys that brought them to this milestone.
Every student spoke. Every student was celebrated. Every student was recognized for the unique gifts they brought to Yavneh. It was a joyful, heartfelt, and memorable graduation that honored both the accomplishments of our graduates and the bright futures that await them.
After the graduation ceremony, we celebrated in a beautiful reception, and our sweet graduates performed the song I Lived by One Republic. It was a day to remember.
