Applying to Yavneh

Applicants to Kindergarten must turn five years old by September 1st of the entering school year and be developmentally ready for a kindergarten placement. In evaluating children for admission to any grade, Yavneh considers the child’s strengths, needs, personality, and learning style in relation to the needs and functioning of the class and school as a whole.

The Application Process

Step 1: Visit Yavneh

Tour the School and/or attend an Open House event by
Submitting an inquiry form.

Step 2: Apply Online

Yavneh Day School uses a web-based application called Ravenna for submission of online applications. Ravenna allows you to efficiently apply to schools and track the status of your application online.

Submit an Online Application by January 28, 2022.
Late applications are reviewed on a rolling admission basis.

Kindergarten

Online Application includes:

  • $100 non-refundable application fee
  • Student photograph
  • Copy of birth certificate
  • Student Evaluation Form (to be completed by your child’s current teacher)
  • Parent/Guardian Questionnaire

1st – 8th Grades

Online Application includes:

  • $100 non-refundable application fee
  • Student photograph
  • Copy of birth certificate
  • Student Evaluation Form (to be completed by your child’s current teacher)
  • Release of School Records

Step 3: Financial Aid

If you will be applying for financial aid, complete the FAST online application.

For your convenience, a parent guide for using FAST is available here. Financial Aid applications are due January 28, 2022.

Step 4: Group Observation or Shadow Day

Observation/assessment and shadow days typically occur the 2nd and 3rd week of February 2022. Once we receive your application and supporting materials, we will contact you to schedule.

Kindergarten

Observation/Assessment:
Our kindergarten assessment is an engaging way for us to get to know your child in, while assessing for kindergarten readiness. The observations (February 2022 for the 2022-2023 school year) will be held in accordance with our current health and safety guidelines. Currently they include: wearing a face mask and providing a negative PCR Covid-19 test result taken within 72 hours prior to their campus visit.

1st – 8th Grade

Shadow Days:
Applying transfer students will meet 1-on-1 with a school administrator and shadow at Yavneh in accordance with our current health and safety guidelines which include: wearing a face mask, providing a copy of a Covid-19 vaccine card if available, and providing a negative PCR Covid-19 test result taken within 72 hours prior to their campus visit.

Step 5: Parent Meeting

As part of the application process, parents and Yavneh’s Head of School meet in February 2022 to discuss the student(s), family and school. Once we receive your application and supporting materials, we will contact you to schedule. (Currently, these meetings are being conducted virtually.)

Step 6: Admissions Decisions

Admissions Decisions are emailed March 17, 2022.

Step 7: Enrollment Contracts Due

A signed enrollment contract with a non-refundable deposit of $1,250 is due by March 24, 2022 at 10am. For families with more than one student, the total deposit due will be $2,000.
