Applying to Yavneh

Applicants to Kindergarten must turn five years old by September 1st of the entering school year and be developmentally ready for a kindergarten placement. In evaluating children for admission to any grade, Yavneh considers the child’s strengths, needs, personality, and learning style in relation to the needs and functioning of the class and school as a whole.

The Application Process

Step 1: Visit Yavneh

Tour the school by submitting an inquiry form.

Step 2: Apply Online

Yavneh Day School uses a web-based application called Ravenna for submission of online applications. Ravenna allows you to efficiently apply to schools and track the status of your application online.

Priority Application Deadline is February 4, 2022. We support a rolling admissions process after the deadline until spaces are full.

Kindergarten

Online Application includes:

  • $100 non-refundable application fee
  • Student photograph
  • Copy of birth certificate
  • Student Evaluation Form (to be completed by your child’s current teacher)
  • Parent/Guardian Questionnaire

1st – 8th Grades

Online Application includes:

  • Release of School Records

Step 3: Tuition Assistance

If you will be applying for tuition assistance, complete the FAST online application.

Step 4: Group Observation or Shadow Day

Once we receive your application and supporting materials, we will contact you to schedule your observation/assessment and shadow days.

Kindergarten

Observation/Assessment:
Our kindergarten assessment is an engaging way for us to get to know your child in, while assessing for kindergarten readiness. The observations will be held in accordance with our current health and safety guidelines. Currently they include: wearing a face mask.

1st – 8th Grade

Shadow Days:
Applying transfer students will meet 1-on-1 with a school administrator and shadow at Yavneh in accordance with our current health and safety guidelines which include: wearing a face mask and providing a copy of a Covid-19 vaccine card if available.

Step 5: Parent Meeting

As part of the application process, parents and Yavneh’s Head of School meet to discuss the student(s), family and school. Once we receive your application and supporting materials, we will contact you to schedule. These meetings are being conducted in-person or virtually.

Step 6: Admissions Decisions

Admissions decisions are released after all steps of the application process are complete. Tuition Assistance award notifications are released with admissions decisions.

Step 7: Enrollment Contracts Due

A signed enrollment contract with a non-refundable deposit of $1,250 is due 7 days after the enrollment contract is sent. For families with more than one student, the total deposit due will be $2,000.
