In Yavneh News

Thank you to everyone who attended Yavneh’s Art Walk and Music Showcase. It was a joy to witness the impact of teaching and support. Our students flourished in their grade level art pieces and individual art and played and sang beautifully. The ruach in the rooms and hallways is what Yavneh is all about. Kol Hakavod to Morah Judy and Morah Julie, and Margaux and Lior who made the night such a huge success.

At the end of the evening, we were able to thank and honor Morah Judy for her 18 years of service and dedication to the students and families of Yavneh. We also thanked our volunteers who help make the school experiences possible. And we thanked and honored Morah Danielle for the immense impact she has had on our community. We are forever grateful to all of you. You help our students be their best selves and you help Yavneh be a true family.

As we close this year and continue our planning for next, we as the board have begun the Strategic Planning process. This cycle happens every 4-5 years as part of our accreditation process as a school. So, if you are thinking, “Didn’t I already do this?” The answer is you have been here long enough to remember the previous cycle.

Our strategic plan will act as a roadmap for our community, aligning all partners on common goals and a unified direction to build a stronger school for all of our students. The intention of the strategic plan is to guide Yavneh’s future by setting priorities, focusing energy and resources, strengthening operations, and ensuring that employees, board members, and stakeholders are all working toward a common purpose.

The five areas of our Strategic Plan include: Board Governance, Fiduciary Responsibility, Educational Programming, Faculty and Staff, and Community Engagement. Our input session at the end of the Art Walk was an in person opportunity to speak to the board about each of the areas of the strategic plan. We want to make sure that we hear the voices of our community, our parents, our students, and our staff. Thank you to those who spoke with us after the Art Walk and provided input. Please use the attached form to share your input on Yavneh’s Areas of Strength and Areas of Growth in each of our Strategic Planning sections. You can fill out one category or all five.

To create the Strategic Plan, we will use input from all of you as well as Yavneh’s Board of Trustees, the YPA, the Advancement Committee, Yavneh’s Faculty, Staff, and Administration, as well as our community partners (e.g. JSV, Surrounding Temples, etc.).

The strategic plan process will span from March 2024 to September 2024 and we will continue to keep you informed throughout the process. Thank you and we hope you have a wonderful summer.
