Our 8th graders recently returned from an incredible journey through New York City, Philadelphia, and Washington, DC, bringing learning to life through history, government, and Jewish heritage. From exploring iconic landmarks and museums to deepening their understanding of Jewish identity, leadership, and civic responsibility, this special trip created memories and connections that will stay with them for years to come. As they prepare for graduation in just a few short weeks, we can’t wait to see all that their future holds and the impact they will make as the next generation of leaders.

Noah: “We can live lives where our values influence our decisions by always asking ourselves why we did what we did. Always asking ourselves is what I’m doing right or would I do it again. Holding ourselves accountable for our actions makes us live up to our best selves every day and make every action one we know we won’t regret.

What I want to take with me on my Jewish journey is being proud of my Jewish identity and not being afraid to show it in public. I also want to take with me the memory of those who came before me to make my life possible. Going to Ellis Island really let me connect to what my great-great grandparents went through to get me here.”

Eva: “When I was learning about all my family has gone through to be where we are today, I felt grateful for everything they did, and the sacrifices they made, and the challenges they faced and overcame to get to where we are today.”

Oliver: “We saw Independence Hall, which was super cool to think I was in the room where my country was born…. It feels very surreal to think this is the birthplace of the US and what I’ve learned makes it feel even more special, how hard my ancestors worked to get me here.”
