Emily Rose Antflick was born in Toronto, Canada, and received a BA in Renaissance Jewish Studies from McGill University, as well as an MA in Curriculum Teaching and Learning and a BEd from the University of Toronto.
She is an alumna of a pluralistic Jewish school like Yavneh and has experience teaching English, Humanities, and Social Sciences at independent schools. Before becoming a classroom teacher, Emily worked as a curriculum developer, facilitator, and program manager for nonprofit organizations and museums in Canada, the US, Australia, and Indonesia. Emily is passionate about healthy work-life integration which led her to found a pioneering feminist coworking space called Shecosystem.
Emily currently lives in the Santa Cruz mountains with her partner and two magical kids, and a persistent sense of awe and gratitude for this place. In her spare time she dances, hikes, writes poetry, reads, and works to increase the biodiversity on the land she calls home. Emily is also currently studying with Kohenet Hebrew Priestess Institute and enjoys facilitating red tents, talking circles, and Jewish holiday gatherings.
