In Yavneh News

As former teachers and now members of the Yavneh Day School Board, we’ve each walked the hallways of this school in a different role. We’ve led classrooms, guided student growth, and experienced firsthand the unique heartbeat of Yavneh. Today, with deep gratitude and admiration, we speak together to honor those who now carry that mantle—the dedicated teachers of Yavneh Day School.

Teaching at Yavneh isn’t just a job. It’s a calling. It means stepping into a space where learning is infused with Jewish values, where every child is seen, and where curiosity is cultivated with care. We know the quiet preparation that happens long before the bell rings. We understand the patience it takes to reach every learner, and the emotional energy it takes to lead with both intellect and heart.
We’ve stood where you stand. And we remember the joy of a student’s “aha” moment, the challenge of a tough teaching day, and the fulfillment of building relationships that often last a lifetime. Being a teacher at Yavneh means knowing your students deeply—not just how they perform academically, but who they are as people. That’s not easy work, but it is sacred work.

We have seen you, our beloved teachers, meet uncertainty with creativity, maintain high expectations with compassion, and model resilience, flexibility, and empathy. You have continued to foster a culture of kindness and curiosity, even in the face of change. That is no small feat.

We, the board members who once stood at the whiteboards and walked the playgrounds, want you to know: we see you. We see your passion, your commitment, your countless unseen acts of kindness and effort. We know the emails you send late into the evening, the classroom setups done on Sundays, the lesson plans rewritten after reflection. You give your all—not just to your students, but to the entire Yavneh community.

As trustees, we are now charged with stewarding the future of the school. But it is your work, each and every day, that ensures Yavneh remains a place of excellence, growth, and joy. The heart of Yavneh is, and always will be, its people—and our teachers are the soul of this school.

On behalf of the board, and as fellow educators at heart, we say thank you. Thank you for showing up with love, for giving deeply, and for making Yavneh a place where children flourish and families feel at home. You are shaping minds, modeling values, and changing lives.

And we, your former colleagues, could not be more proud.

With gratitude,
Kari, Danielle and Diana
