Does Yavneh need donations? Why do you ask?
So, here we are in Los Gatos, with a Jewish school, a rare jewel of a school, and with very few Jewish schools within 50 miles, even though we are in Silicon Valley.
I want Jewish schools to thrive. I want an excellent Jewish education for my kids, Maya and Mayer, and other people’s kids, too. When they grow up, I want them to know Jewish friends, Jewish traditions, and Jewish religion. I want them to learn even more than I know.
Things are going well. My wife, Marjorie, and I feel that our kids got a great foundation at Yavneh. Maya is in college at the University of Oregon, and Mayer is in high school at Oak Grove High School in San Jose. Maya had a Bat Mitzvah and continues to study Torah and Talmud weekly via Zoom with a Rabbi. Maya connects with Jewish friends at Shabbat dinner at Oregon Hillel. Mayer had a Bar Mitzvah, and is Gadol (President) of his AZA/BBYO chapter, and is active every week with his Jewish friends, several who also attended Yavneh.
Their continued involvement in the Jewish Community is why I want Yavneh to sustain for years to come.
Even though my kids have already graduated from Yavneh, I am still donating to Yavneh to keep Yavneh healthy.
I hope you will consider donating to Yavneh, too. When we donate, we make it so Yavneh has excellent teachers, and more children can be students and friends to our children. We build a community.
By donating, I know Yavneh Day School will be here, just like it was for my kids. In my capacity as a Development Committee Member, I might call you or send you a text asking you to donate. Or, somebody else on the committee, or on the Board of Trustees, might give you a call or send you a text to support the Annual Campaign. It would be awesome if you donate. It would make me happy, and I think it would make you happy, too.
Shabbat Shalom,
Jeff Warwick
