Our 3rd graders were busy today in the learning kitchen preparing for their “Service Learning Bake Sale” tomorrow, May 31st at 3:00PM. Make sure to stop by the Oneg Shabbat outside to support their service learning projects. The 3rd grade guiding question is “what is my role in the community.” We’ve learned that it is our job to make our community better, whether that be at home, school, or out in the larger world. Each student has picked a cause that they feel strongly about and they researched why this cause needs our support. They then found a nonprofit which supports and helps this cause. Students are writing 5 paragraph essays explaining why we should donate the profits from our bake sale to this nonprofit. Come by the bake sale, read an essay or two, and vote for the nonprofit you would like the proceeds to go to!
