Middle schoolers in Morah Sharon’s science class at Yavneh Day School recently delved into the world of chemical properties. Students discovered captivating phenomena in a series of fascinating experiments around fire and light. One experiment involved soaking money in a unique water mixture and 70% isopropyl alcohol. The result? The alcohol formed an outer layer, burning off, while the water layer shielded the money from burning.

In another experiment, cotton balls soaked in 70% isopropyl alcohol were combined with various salts, resulting in mesmerizing flames of different colors. 🎆🔬 Stay tuned for more scientific discoveries from our brilliant students! #YavnehScienceExplorers
