In this week’s #ViewFromThePrincipal, let’s take a look at Gan (kindergarten) writers workshop!

Our Gan students crafted informational writing about what they did in their recent STEAM class. For our youngest learners, writing comes in many forms and typically begins with drawing their ideas before stringing sounds together to form sentences.

The philosophy of “teach the writer, not the writing” fosters creativity as students develop fundamental writing techniques. This is a great example of our progressive, student-centered curriculum and how it ingrains a love of learning at such an early age.

The room was full of energy and the kids were very excited to show me their work! #ThisIsY I love peeking into classrooms daily and I’m thrilled to share with all of you.
