This Is “Y” Moments

Week of 9/6 – 9/10

How hard is it to complete a jigsaw puzzle with your eyes closed while your friends who have their eyes open, but can’t touch any piece of it, guide you? During advisory, 7th graders were challenged with this task. Teamwork, leadership, and collaboration are key values to develop students’ academic journey.

Kindergarten/Gan is learning about trees. In STEAM they used all 5 senses to  connect with nature. As “forest engineers,” students collected parts of trees that fell on the ground.

Our Gan students used tree parts to create tree posters. They are also researching about the temperature each tree has during different parts of the day, and how the sun plays an important role in the changing of temperature.

6th Grade/Kitah Vav practiced for the Tech Museum Interactive Challenge to be held later in the year, by completing past challenges.

4th Grade/Kitah Dalet presented their Rosh Hashanah symbol posters.

Our co-ed 5th-8th Grade Flag Football team has been practicing for their upcoming games. Go Blaze!

Kindergarten/Gan has been studying apples with and without the peel. They are writing down their observations and making predictions about why apples have peels.

3rd Grade/Kitah Gimel make still life drawings of Rosh Hashanah fruits.

6th Grade/Kitah Vav enjoying the interactive STEAM board at the entrance of the STEAM classroom.
