Zack SleepKitah Hay (5th Grade) Teacher & Social Studies Curriculum Coordinator

Having just completed his M.S. Ed at the University of Pennsylvania, Zack is excited to return to Yavneh. His experience in education has taken him from working as an English language instructor in rural Vietnam to creating the Young Detectives after school program at the OFJCC to teaching fifth grade. It is Zack’s belief that teachers open pathways for students to engage with cultures and ideas with which they are unfamiliar. Scholars who participate in hands-on learning, mutual collaboration and volunteer service will learn to see themselves as contributors of knowledge in the classroom and to the betterment of their community.

In his free time, Zack loves playing basketball, fishing, and researching the world’s most endangered animals. His passion for exploration is renewed time and time again by the inspiration he receives from his students.
