Fourth graders have been working on learning all about California.  They’ve spent the past few weeks learning how to research, organize notes, and translate their learning into an informational writing.  Each student created a brochure about a region of California.  Here are a few thoughts and takeaways from the kids:
Guilad says he learned a lot more about the coast of California and why it’s so popular to live there.  It’s a cool place.  I learned a lot about the indigenous people who live there and even a little about otters.
Liam says I had a lot of fun.  I learned about the valley and it is the biggest farming area.  It provides a lot of food to the whole US.  So much of the fruits and vegetables that we eat come from there.
Mia says that most people think that the valley is really boring, but actually it’s really interesting.  The kit foxes that live there are so cute.  I learned a lot about the indigenous people, what lives there, and how the valley looks and feels.
Ellie said she learned how to transfer her research and make it her own words.
Maya R. says she had a lot of fun doing this project.  She learned how to do research.
