In Yavneh News

One of Yavneh Day School Fundamental Belief is that “Learning is meaningful when it is relevant”; this belief is rooted in the Jewish text: “Educate a child according to their way and they will not depart from it when they are old” – “חֲנֹ֣ךְ לַ֭נַּעַר עַל־פִּ֣י דַרְכּ֑וֹ גַּ֥ם כִּֽי־יַ֝זְקִ֗ין לֹֽא־יָס֥וּר מִמֶּֽנָּה׃”

Project Based Learning (PBL) is a teaching method that we use at Yavneh from Kindergarten all the way to 8th grade, because it makes learning meaningful and it allows students to take ownership of their learning. This year in Kitah Gan we introduced PBL focusing on learning about forest (trees) and camping. Both in the classrooms and during STEAM time students are given the opportunity to explore different paths to deepen their understanding and learning about trees and camping. Right now we are in the middle of our PBL and this video will show you a glimpse of their journey.
