4th grade students had an exciting overnight trip to Urban Adamah in Berkley, focusing on sustainable living. They interacted with animals, learned about composting and photosynthesis, and explored the garden day and night. They learned about the Lisjan Ohlone people and the Shuumi land tax. Students kicked off Thursday with a beautiful class led Shacahrit service and spent the day in doors and outdoors doing a variety of activities throughout the farm. These experiences promote hands-on learning, independence, and build autonomy and confidence in students.
