During the Gan year, our kindergarten class learns about Shabbat together. Many aspects of Shabbat learning are integrated into other subjects, especially music. This year, this class was specially chosen to be part of a pilot program for the non-profit organization Music by Heart, chaired by our music director, Lior Ben Hur. He has created a multimedia oriented Jewish education program called Cousins Like Us, which teaches children the concepts, different cultural aspects, music, and language of Shabbat rituals through a fun musical album, an interactive eBook, and an entire class curriculum for students and parents.
