As part of the tikkun olam (repairing the world) service component Kitah Hay, 5th Grade’s Jewish Studies curriculum, students researched and organized community service projects.  Each student sought organizations and planned a time for the entire class to participate in on-site volunteer work. The journeys to help these organizations have begun!

They recently visited Sourcewise, an organization dedicated to helping improve access and quality of life for seniors in the bay area. Students assembled hygiene packets for them (including masks and gloves), put together information packets, and wrote personalized greeting cards.

Next up, they will visit the children’s hospital, CHONC, for more volunteer work!
