Thank you to all who joined us both in person and virtually at our first ever 8th Grade Rube Goldberg Machine Contest! Everyone who participated – the teams, judges, parents, teachers, etc. helped Yavneh build something wonderful for our current & future Beyond STEAM students!

Congratulations to Team 3 for winning the competition. They scored the highest in each category, which earned them the champions of the event. Each team put an extraordinary amount of time into building their machines, testing and retesting, building and rebuilding, and we cannot thank you enough for your efforts and determination.

From Morah Vanina:

To our students, we hope that as the judges told you today: “feel proud of yourself, because you all took risks, put yourself out there, and faced the challenges involved while doing this type of project.” Mr. Pierce and I are very proud of each of you!
To our judges, thank you for your time, dedication, and most importantly your wisdom!

More about the Rube Goldberg Machine Contest:

8th-grade students have been working since the beginning of the year in small teams creating their own Rube Goldberg Machine as part of their Science/Beyond STEAM curriculum.

Established by Rube Goldberg Inc., every year the contest defines a goal, and students across the globe are encouraged to participate. The goal of this year’s contest is to create a Rube Goldberg Machine that’s final step will open a book. This is the first year Yavneh is participating in this international initiative.
