For this week’s View from the Principal, let’s focus on every student’s favorite time of day: recess!

Recess provides our students with an opportunity to play, socialize, exercise, and build relationships with their schoolmates. It exemplifies our school’s fundamental beliefs of partnership and relevance. Students foster friendships, learn how to socialize and make friends at recess each and every day. They are also seen creating activities that directly correlate to the learning that is going on in class.

Mr. Rogers once said:

“Play is often talked about as a relief from serious learning. But for children, play is serious learning. Play is really the work of childhood.”

At Yavneh, we foster a play space that nurtures friendship, sportsmanship, safety, and fun.
