In Yavneh News

As a community, we spent last Friday honoring and learning on Veterans Day. Yavneh Board member and veteran, Dena Acevedo, joined us as a special guest speaker. Dena served 5 years as a Human Intelligence Collector in the US Army during which time she deployed to Baghdad in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom. Students asked lots of questions. We appreciated her honest and nuanced sharing of her experiences in the US military, especially her unique perspective as a woman and as a Jew.
