Have you ever wondered how to make a school spirit week even more fun and memorable? Well, at Yavneh, Lyla and Eldan (8th grade students) had a few ideas up their sleeves!
As they began planning Spirit Week for Yavneh, Lyla and Eldan faced an exciting challenge: How can they keep the traditions everyone loves while adding a little extra fun, creativity, and surprise? After all, Spirit Week is about more than just dressing up. It’s about bringing students together, celebrating our Yavneh pride, and creating memories that last long after the week is over.
And that’s exactly what they set out to do!
They took some of Yavneh’s favorite traditions and gave them a playful new twist. Monday’s traditional Yavneh Day became Crazy Yavneh Day — because why not start the week with a little craziness? Picture Day got a stylish upgrade with Fancy Day, giving everyone a chance to dress to impress. And Walkathon Day? This year, students could trade their backpacks for just about anything on Anything But a Backpack Day. Who knew carrying school supplies could be so creative?
But the excitement didn’t stop with Spirit Week!
The Student Council team was already thinking ahead to its next activities. To get ready, council members brought volunteers together to create bead kits for decorating students’ shoes and to design school stickers. These projects may seem small, but they show just how much creativity and teamwork go into making Yavneh even more exciting.
And let’s take a moment to appreciate this entrepreneurial team! From coming up with fresh ideas to turning them into real projects, these students are showing what leadership looks like in action. They’re not just planning activities, they’re finding ways to bring the Yavneh community closer together, one creative idea at a time.
So, get ready, Yavneh! With Lyla, Eldan, and the Student Council leading the way, there’s plenty of fun, school spirit, and creativity ahead. And who knows what they’ll come up with next?
One thing is certain: at Yavneh, tradition never goes out of style — it just gets a fun new twist!
