On Wednesday, February 25th, the 9th of Adar, Kitah Dalet led a special Shacharit service at Congregation Sinai for their milestone. Students led the community in the prayers, sang songs and performed on instruments and gave explanations in Hebrew and in English about the meaning of the prayers and how they connect to them. They also displayed their artwork – mezuzah cases – connected to the tefillah. Mazal tov to all the parents and yasher koach to all of the teachers who worked with our students, especially Morah Elena, Morah Margaux, Morah Judy, Morah Julie and Mr. Cooper. A special shoutout to Rabbi Josh Berkenwald of Congregation Sinai, who graciously volunteered his time to teach our children how to become shlichei tzibbur – “representatives of the community.” We look forward to them taking on leadership roles in tefillah in the future at both Yavneh and in the community.
