In Yavneh News

Dear Yavneh Community,

Our Board is so happy to welcome our students and families to the 2024-25 school year.  As I reflect on the impact Yavneh has had on my family, I am grateful that we began our Yavneh journey 10 years ago, we were welcomed with open arms by our mentor family and the entire Yavneh community. This last Spring, we watched Silver, our eldest, graduate and yesterday she began her 9th grade year at Branham High School. Something magical happened before the first day of school- she was once again welcomed by Yavneh. A Yavneh Alumni who is a few years older and goes to Branham reached out to have lunch with her on her first day, walk with her to her classes, and help answer any questions. That is the embodiment of Yavneh and the students we grow here and I couldn’t be more proud.

Yavneh stretches beyond the school year. My children had the pleasure of attending Camp Ramah Galim this summer where we were immediately hugged by Rony and Dor, our 2023-2024 Shinshinim. Camp felt like an extension of the Yavneh family and my children came home with deeper friendships and even more pride in their Jewish identities. We have been fortunate to double down on these experiences and it enriched my children and our family.

If we haven’t met before, my name is Stephanie Rothstein and I am proud to serve as your Yavneh Board Vice President. May we all work together as a community to open our arms to welcome the new Yavneh students and families and ensure that everyone feels they are part of our Yavneh community. And, this Sunday, our own Yavneh Board of Trustees will do our own welcoming, we will meet to welcome new board members and thank our outgoing board members for their service.

To a Great School Year!

B’Shalom,

Steph
