This is “Y” Moments of the Week

What a joyful week of Hanukkah! Each morning we have lit the Hanukkiah as a community and enjoyed multiple student musical performances. We look forward to our 3rd grade performance at the Children’s Discovery Museum this Sunday.

2nd Grade/Kitah Bet performed a skit about the Maccabees this morning.

1st Grade/Kitah Alef sang and danced to a “Maccabee Mash Up” Hanukkah medley.

3rd Grade/Kitah Gimel has been learning about the human body, including our biometrics. In STEAM, students are learning about their fingerprints, and understanding their fingerprints‘ patterns.

In JSTEAM, Kindergarten/Kitah Gan learned how the Hannukiah was lit at the time of the Maccabees. Understanding that we can create fire, and maintain it using different natural elements. We used the inside of an orange as a container and for the wick and we put olive oil inside it. For fire we did use matches but students knew that rocks and sticks can create sparks of fire too.

Student Council set up a Hanukkah card making station during recess this week.

4th and 5th grade performed at the Community Candle lighting at the Pruneyard in Campbell tonight.
