Yavneh middle schoolers recently participated in a captivating mock trial inspired by the classic novel “The Outsiders.” Immersed in the gripping narrative of S.E. Hinton’s iconic work, students not only dissected the literary nuances but also stepped into the characters’ shoes to unravel a fictional courtroom drama. From Ponyboy Curtis to Johnny Cade, each character found a voice in the courtroom as our young legal eagles presented their cases. Ms. Yourman’s class seamlessly wove literary exploration with legal drama, creating an immersive experience that brought the characters and the storyline to life. The mock trial wasn’t just an exercise in legal procedure but an opportunity for students to delve deep into the themes and conflicts that define “The Outsiders.”
