Doug HinkoPrincipal

Prior to joining Yavneh Day School as the Principal, Doug served as the Head of PreK-8th Grade at Williamsburg Northside School in Brooklyn; Director of Innovation & Curriculum Integration at Sinai Akiba Academy in Los Angeles; and Technology Director & 21st Century Technology Specialist at the Rhoades School in Encinitas, CA. Doug also serves as an Adjunct Instructor for Hebrew Union College. His teaching career began on the South Side of Chicago where he was born and raised. Doug holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education from Northern Illinois University and a Masters Degree in Curriculum & Instruction from Concordia University Chicago. Doug has built his career focusing on progressive pedagogies and ensuring the unique needs of each learner is being met. He prides himself on ensuring that students are always engaged and enjoying themselves while learning.

In his free time, Doug enjoys cooking, eating, spending time with his dogs, being in nature, running, and taking CrossFit classes.
