PrayerStudents explore theological concepts • Students learn several morning prayers, as well as the blessings over various foods, and begin to understand their meaning and importance• Students say the appropriate blessings at lunch and snack times HebrewStudents are introduced to the Alef-Bet • Students learn to speak and understand Hebrew phrases and sentences about the calendar, holidays, weather, their bodies, clothing, and counting Judaic StudiesStudents learn to appreciate the beauty and significance of Shabbat through candle lighting, Kabbalat Shabbat programs, blessings, songs, tzedakah, and stories • Students learn about the Chagim (holidays) by performing plays, singing songs, making projects, and building vocabulary to enhance their understanding • Students begin to appreciate the unique nature of the Torah and become acquainted with the stories in Genesis and Exodus • Students discover the special place Israel holds as a homeland for all Jews • Tzedakah, g’milut hasadim, ethics and value |
