Yavneh's tuition fees cover less than 80% of its costs. We are grateful to the many parents and community supporters whose charitable contributions sustain Yavneh and help it grow.

A School for All Jewish Children

A Quarter Century of Growth

The school currently has an enrollment of 168 students in grades JK-8. The student/teacher ratio ranges from 12:1 in Gan to a maximum of 17:1 in the upper grades.

Everyone on the Yavneh faculty brings years of teaching experience into the classroom. All are continually involved in professional development courses to sharpen their skills.

The school day at Yavneh runs from 8:30 a.m. until 3:30 p.m. for grades K-5 and from 8:15 a.m. until 3:45 p.m. for grades 6-8. The school year includes runs from late August through mid-June. The school is closed for all federal and major Jewish holidays. Child care is available on campus before and after school by arrangement.

There is continual interaction and integration between the General Studies and Judaica curricula. Our students sharpen their English grammar skills as they learn Hebrew; they analyze literature through the perspective of Jewish values; they compare and contrast the geography and ecology of California with that of the State of Israel.

Parent participation is critical to the success of our school. Every family is expected to earn 25 Parent Participation Credits (PPCs) per year to support school activities, primarily by volunteering for fundraising activities.

You are welcome to visit Yavneh Day School at any time. To set up an appointment, please call the school at (408) 984-6700.
